Can library parts created in AC 8 or 9 cause problems in 10?

We've been using ArchiCAD 10 for a few months and it's a great improvement over 9.

However, my co-worker's machine has been slow lately and he's crashed several times, including a big crash last week (Mac OS X, v. 10.4.9 / 1.6 GHz G5 / 2 GB RAM).

We use the ArchiCAD 10 library, plus our own library, which includes parts that were made by a former coworker in AC 8 or 9. We were wondering if using parts made in previous versions might cause slowness and/or crashing.

My coworker's computer issues could have been caused by anything, and my computer (similar but dual 1.8 GHz processors and 5.5 GB RAM) hasn't experienced any problems in ArchiCAD 10.

So this may be a long shot--just trying to get to the bottom of the problem--but could using parts made in 8 or 9 cause problems in 10?

Thank you!

Ana,
As far as I know, library parts written in earlier versions
do not cause slow downs or crashes. Some library parts
that worked in 8.1 give errors in 9 and 10 or fail to process.
