Hi,
i'm having trouble getting the 3rd party downloaded 3d objects to display their materials and or textures in the 3D window. I can get wall textures and archicad object (slabs, stairs) so I know the render engine and graphic cards are ok, but the objects I place all end up colored blue.
Additionally, in the objects selection settings for these 3rd party objects, there is no Model tab for me to select Use Objects Materials.
I'd be guessing that the Model section has been turned off in your Work Environment.
Work Environment > Tool Schemes > Tool Settings Dialogue Boxes.

The Material setting can also be added to your Info Box via the Work Environment > Tool Schemes > Info Box > Object Tool > Material, so you can alter this setting without opening the Object's dialog box.

One thing to check is that you have selected "Use Object's Materials" under the Model section.
If that does not work, it seems like ArchiCAD is using the pen color rather than the materials for the object in 3D. This usually indicates a problem with the 3D Script of the object (using the pen color when no material can be read). Changing the pen set will not solve the problem, this object may not have been properly translated for use in ArchiCAD.
