Dock leveller is used at logistics facilities, or any warehouse. It can be inclined, raised, or lowered (rarely) so that a forklift can enter the container truck. Basically, there are pit mounted and sliding. What you have posted is the pit mounted one, with the section showing the outline of the pit - usually reinforced concrete. The actual pit size is given by the dock leveller manufacturer - in India, I suppose Godrej does them for example.
