I opened a project this morning, and most of my saved views were
missing the doors and windows. Assumed it was the FPCP. I had not
changed FPCP for most of my views.
I re-opened the PLN without saving and the doors & windows appeared....
Almost all of them. Upon inspection I saw that the windows with a sill
height greater that the "mysterious" default of 3'-7 5/16" (Links calls it a
bug in discussion here ).
All walls have the show projection option set to "Entire Element".
So what did I do to get the view to show with respect to the FPCP. The
views displayed the windows above the FPCP in the past, I even have
print-outs the show the windows. How did I break this? Can it be fixed? If
my main template file has this mysterious default FPCP of 3'-7 5/16", am
I to worry? And again how to fix?
Thanks for any Help.

return key.
I am so far from understanding any of this, and I apologize with tis FPCP is
spelled out clear somewhere in the help file....
So I checked the "global" FPCP" under Documents. See screen shot.
I changed the "show up to:" option to "Story(s) above" and changed
offset by it to 0".
This works but I may have Broken something else.
I opened a new file using my template and the global FPCP was set
with "show up to:" option to "Story(s) above" and offset by 0".
I do not know how this got changed in my current project file, which was
based on the template.
Opening up a new file using the ArchiCAD 10 Template.tpl and the global
FPCP is set also to 4' with "show up to:" option to "Story(s) above" and
offset by 0".
The views in the ArchiCAD 10 Template are still set to 3'-7 5/16" and the
"show up to:" option to "Current Story" and offset by 0".

I click of a saved view, and the story above walls are showing when they should not be, click on a different view, then back to the other view and the story above walls are not showing, which is correct. I did nothing the fix this, but the FPCP seem to be changing or doing what ever it likes and I can not tell what it is that "upsets" it or for that matter corrects it.

For each view, have you checked its settings, and from there its FPCP? FPCP settings are saved with views. If you want to update the saved FPCP, you have to updated the saved view via the settings dialog...

do "whatever". This is also the default state of views within the ArchiCAD
10 Template.tpl.
Is it OKay to have the the
"show up to:" option to "Current Story" and offset by 0".
Once edited this state, does not seem to return.
I guess this is dumb, but does it matter that the walls are set to show
Entire Element?
Karl & Link thanks for the Saturday responses.
And karl when you say "For each view, have you checked its settings,
and from their its FPCP?" I do not honestly and sadly know what settings
that I actually. Reminds me of my Vector calculus class and working in
imaginary "n" vector spaces.

FPCP seem like Rocket science to me.
The view that I set the FPCP screen shot of is now "acting-up" again. The
Windows are gone in plan view. Do I have the FPCP set correct? I have
no Idea. I have not change the FPCP for almost all of my views, and
everything was fine. Maybe it is when I changed the FPCP settings for
one of my other views. I wanted a top plan view with the roofs, walls and
decks of a reference sheet within my calculation set. I adjusted the FPCP
for just this an on other view (similar plan view with Shear diaphragms
designated) I did not want openings to show in these views. I will send a
shot of the FPCP for those views next.
Could modifying FPCP in other views mess other views up?
Was starting the job (or creating a template) off of the ArchiCAD 10
Template file cause the problem?

foundation plan. I was modifying the settings so that columns that came
through to this level would show on this story. Mostly worked.
Again I do not think that changing the view settings in these view should
effect others.

Are my FPCP correct? I guess?
I have not CHANGED THEM EVER FOR THIS VIEW.
Should I expect others to start "acting-up" also?????
