GDL Part Material names changed to ":" in Artlantis

When exporting a model of a building we're designing and the GLD parts of a neighbouring buildings, the GDL part materials are all renamed from something like "brick" to ":" when imported to Artlantis.

I built one neighbouring buildings in Archicad, and saved it from a top down parallel view. I'm having the above problem with this building. Built in Archicad 14.

Strangely the other GDL Part, the other neighbouring building, is working properly, and retaining the material names, inheriting older Artlantis reference file properties... My co-worker built this, but she doesn't remember how she built this, years ago in Archicad 12.

I've included a screenshot...

The left building is grouped (hollow selection "dots"). It is made of two or more elements (maybe GDL objects, maybe not). The one on the right seems really to be one GDL object.

the issue where artlantis materials are labelled ":" for GDL objects ended up being a checkbox in the artlantis save dialog box. it was resolved by checking the "Others" box under "textures options"
