GDL for gradient fill

Im struggling to create a fill in GDL and the manual is rather vague. Any suggestions or examples on how to implement this? Thanks

I don't think you can create a gradient file, just fills with a pattern.
I could be wrong though.

However, why would you want to create a gradient fill?
There is already a linear and radial gradient fill that comes standard with Archicad.
These will be exactly the same as any gradient fill you could create - there is nothing unique about them as they don't have a pattern.

If you want unique colours you can save a favourite.
The favourite doen't seem to save the fill stretch or orientation though.

There are commands for creating gradients inline :

DEFINE LINEAR_GRADIENT_FILL, DEFINE RADIAL_GRADIENT_FILL

however no code examples...

Yes that is what I mean. All very vague.
I have an object I use like a zone but for concept blocking. Basically places a GDL fill but with title and areas. It is more adaptable than a zone as it pushes and pulls the corners to make “L” shapes and can be shown on multiple storeys as needed.

So gradient fill to assist the presentation.

Thanks David. After some time away from ArchiCAD I never knew of this separate GDL forum. Any idea why it is separate from this forum?

I think their forum is just a small part of that task, it is more about the documentation.

I would make couple of gradient fills and then drag'n'dropped them to 2d script.
That would give some light how the command work.
