Is Roof Surfacer gone in AC12??

Hi folks...

I'm in the process of switching our office over to R12 from R9. I did a search of the forum before asking this...

What happened to the roof surfacer??!!

We need that thing back! About 75% percent of our jobs have pan & barrel tile roofs, and we made extensive use of the 'Italian tiles' roof surfacer (which was close enough to look good on elevations and in sections).

Can we buy this somewhere? I'm not looking forward to writing code for that.

Thanks,

Dave Sanders

It is a Goodie now - you have to download it separately! You should also not forget to download the corresponding Accessories Library !

Graphisoft is a funny character, don't you think so? 😉

Kliment,

Sorry to be a noob, but could you point me to a URL for the Goodies? I looked around the site and had no luck.

Thanks!

there's no direct link from the website. use your Help>ArchiCAD xx Goodies menu from within archicad - it should open your browser and link directly to the goodies page...

Archiben,

Thanks! Got it. Man...... An auspicious start on the forum for me, huh? I promise to de-noob ASAP!
I wonder what the rationale for the Goodies approach is. If it is worth distributing, it is worth including in the installation and update packages. If it is not worth distributing, it is not worth distributing. Can't see the point of a Third Way in this one.

i have a feeling it comes down to a matter of support: the goodies are (or used to be) unsupported features - they may be incomplete or not thoroughly tested so you use them at your own risk. i guess by hunting them down yourself you forgo the support that comes with the main bought package?

for what it's worth though, i totally agree with you!

Just a humble question: For what damages does Graphisoft accept liabilties when you use Archicad without Goodies?
AC4.1-AC26SWE; MacOS13.5.1; MP5,1+MBP16,1
