Any thoughts as to what is going on, and how can I get it to believe that there are not duplicates?

Well now I am embarrassed. It seems your wish is coming true very fast! The feature will be in ARCHICAD 20:

Hi, good folks.
I am having the same problem that have been reported here (AC 20 5025, macOS Sierra).
With the BIMObjects add-on, I get hundreds of duplicates (90% of which are not placeable) despite all files that are branded "duplicates" having the same file path. Tried deleting and re-downloading libraries, changing destination for download folder, etc. with no success.
Any suggestions?

Is it possible that you have downloaded and placed multiple BIMObject GDL Objects into your ARCHICAD Project file and they are using the same macros? Each GDL Object probably downloads its own macros and includes them in the Libraries, but in case of two such objects those macros may be the same and this may cause a duplicate object warning. You can check this in your Library Manager Dialog.
