Library part not working properly in 64 bit

Anonymous
Not applicable
I've just changed from a 32bit to a 64 bit computer.

I am getting a "library part was not converted properly(W001)" warning when I try to use 3d. How do I convert this over to 64 bit?

Also, how do I find W001 - I assume that it's a window, but as I cannot see it, where is it?

Thanks as always for your help - any help is VERY much appreciated.

Regards,

Hayley.

Hi Hayley,

Yes, it's probably a macro for a window giving the problem - I don't think it's anything to do with your being on 64bit.

Which version of AC does this error occur in? (you should add this and your OS in your signature for better help on this forum)

Are you migrating a project from an older version of AC? If so, have you loaded all the relevant libraries?

Take a look at this thread. Does it help you?

Please don't post the same issue in different threads.

Cheers,

Hi David,

I appreciate that I probably should not post the same question in different threads, but I do not always get an answer - so in order to up my chances of a response, that is what I've been doing.

I use this forum because Graphisoft do not seem answer questions, I do not have the time to wait for them. - I have too many assignments due.

I am running AC13, win7.

The link you forwarded does have a solution but unfortunately, for an Archicad dummy such as myself, I do not understand it.

I really do appreciate all the help I can get - the transfer to 64bit has proven itself to be a real headache.

Thanks,

Hayley

Your chances of getting an answer won't increase by posting in more than one place. It's not a lottery. 😉

I'm using AC13 on Win7 x64 and I haven't seen the problem you describe. I do agree that getting 64-bit to work can, in general, cause some teething problems but these are not that difficult to work out now that drivers are more easily available.

The issue you're facing lies in some library object you're using. Are you getting this error with the default AC13 library?

Try using the marquee tool to select only half of the project at any given time. and press F5 to view that in 3D. Then, repeatedly halve the marquee area until you find the offending object.

If you suspect it's a door/window causing the problem, remember that it's likely to be in more than one location. In that case, maybe select a portion that has the door/window and, if you get the same error, temporarily delete that door/window and try again. If the error is gone, you will easily have your culprit.

Hope this helps.

P.S. My name is not David.

The problem is finally solved!!

Solution - TURN OFF THE SECURITY SOFTWARE WHEN INSTALLING.

Simple - worked perfectly.

I'd also like to thank Ian at Graphisoft who came up with the solution.

I was floored when he called me to see if everything was ok. I don't say it very often, but I was VERY impressed with the customer service.

Woo, Woo, Ian - you're a super star. javascript:emoticon('')

Thanks again,

Hayley.
