Milgard BIM files

I noticed that Milgard has CAD/BIM file download area on their site.
Look at the "CAD/BIM" tab

They mention Revit and Sketchup, are these any help to the ArchiCAD user?

You can open SU files directly in AC.

Those are Doors and Windows.

It's probably worth mentioning that if you do import them into ArchiCAD as Sketchup files, you will not be able to use them as ArchiCAD doors and windows but rather as 'dead' 3D library objects.

Supposedly the new version of SKetchup (2014) has some BIM functionality vis-a-vis IFC import and export.
It might be worth exploring if that's a viable route to get those window and door objects into ArchiCAD with the possibility of retaining their capability of being read as windows and doors by ArchiCAD.

I wouldn't invest too much hope in it being successful, though.
I checked them out and they are not useful to me.

What I want is an good ArchiCAD vinyl window with nailing fin.
I that too much to ask?

(Apparently so.🙂)
Maybe then it would make more sense to bother showing exactly how we want the window fin nailed/flashed and trim back-cut so it lays flat and the head piece of custom sheet metal installed with end turn-downs.
In other words a complete water repelling detail.

Yes! And I would like to just check a box to assign my choice of fully annotated head, sill, and jamb details. And they will of course be automatically placed in the correct Layout sheet with the window schedules.
