We reference our job by a Job # and Job Name. We now have a need for several different library parts to include these values. What is the easiest way to achieve this so that a designer does not have to open every single part and enter the values? I tried calling the parameters over, but that doesn’t seem to work. When calling them over some of the values are a drop down parameters list, and all it does is just select the first one from the list.
If some of your objects are custom and don't have these fields, just edit the original object and change the subtype to a closely related one which has the necessary fields (or define your own subtype). Save. All placed objects will remain as they were with all existing parameter values unchanged ... however the new parameters from the subtype (or added manually) will be part of each object and can be edited in one fell swoop in the I.S. (or by object ... but you wanted to avoid 1 by 1 editing)...
Just a sleepy thought... make a backup first in case I'm TOO sleepy...
