New Object 3DMD Polyline Fence

Hi
I'm working on a new object I will share with you on Archicad BimComponents. I share here it in the first beta version, so we can try to find some bags or improvements.

The object fence is really only a simple version of a main object most complex. The logic in which the main object works is to generate a 3d editable poly line, base to generate more complex or simple tubes along it, in which I can distribute more simple or complex posts.

I'll will use the main complex object to create single simple objects.

Give me any suggestion and request of any object based on this logic. I will be happy to try to create your personal request.

The last version is here:

These Library parts that you guys are developing are incredible - it occurs to me there is great potential here . One use might be in making simple foundation walls that can step up and down hillsides that follow floor polygons
- where the footings or top plates can be spit at will and heights adjusted
this would be a great advancement over messy story - wall system we use now.

Randy I'll work on different top/base wall elevation to. Your observation is right.
Now I'm working to rewrite part of the whole code to have the possibility of parallel path and a different curve rappresentation logic, now not exactly what I'd like.
Thanks for your comments.

It was not possible for me - till now - to make a Tube working ok - if the segmentpoints of the polygone didnt have the same Z. But now i made this progress! (based on the polygon-code of 2013.08.05 arq. esteban ramos)

german but just look and see.

here the AC18Edu-File to test it..:

Now i added more tubs which can be edited by using 3D- hotspots:

On tube for the wall, one for the cover, one for the Handrail - and all can be drawn parallel to the polygone.

the next step:

Added a way and stairs by altering the z-hights..

Wow , I wish I could understand German or advanced Gdl I think what you produced is a lot more than what I envisioned and certainly shows what can be done with gdl scripting - I however was seeing the need for a foundation wall and footing that can span stories with bottom and top adjustable like your "polygonzug" - one part instead of using many walls over sometimes multiple stories , fully adjustable , simpler than what you have created. (great work )

Hallo RandyC!

Today i had a little time and so - here is something for you!

Its an GDL-Program-example for a similar functionality you wanted.
AC18EduAut-File for testing purpose..

It is interesting for me too. It now works, but there should be some things implemented to be able to change simple things in 3D and 2D direct like i made in my other shown GDL-Parts..

In my former GDL i divided the length of a segment do get the point for the stepping of the foundation. Now i added a movable hotspot to move the steps in 3D to somewhere in between the segment.

Same download - dropbox as before

Heimo Mooslechner your stepping foundation wall works well, easy to set up, and faster than using complex walls over multiple stories. Could you make the top of the wall also step up and down ? With wood frame construction we often step the top of the concrete wall down and use wood walls to hold a wood floor over. Your wall would work perfect for concrete slab floors however as all foundation walls come up to meet the floor. We also add insulation panels to the inside and outside of the foundations for both slabs and stepped wood framed foundations - which should be easy for your "stepping foundation" as an attachment like you did on your polyline fence.
