Safari Browser + Web Control

Has anyone noticed that with the Safari Browser on MacOS X 10.5 and the GDL Web Control you get 2 representations of the Web Control View, if you do not embed the <embed>-Tag into the <object>-Tag?
One for the <object>-Tag and one for the <embed>-Tag. Does Safari supports the ActiveX Control technique or does it translate the object-Tag into a second Plugin-variation?

Hey Joachim
I just tried this one objectstop.com/?category=17&product_id=75 in the new Safari V4 (beta) and it just crashes.
Runs fine in firefox tho.
From memory i don't think safari supports ActiveX
