Schedule problems

I'm not quite sure if this is the right area, but... here goes.

I'm having a problem when I try to pull up some schedules. Probably my reluctance to read the manual in full has gotten me to mess up some settings (though I can't imagine which ones - I thought I put them all back to the original). Basically I'm getting an error when I try to pull up a Window Legend "Not all selected elements are allowed in the list scheme filters. Do you want to list all selected elements?". I have two options: "Use Filters", or "List All"

If I "Use Filters" it only shows a few window types (about half of what I have). If I "List All" I get things like "Beam-014", "Slab-022", "Fill-047" and so on. Of note is that this project was started in 7.0 and some windows are 7.0 while others have been updated... and I'm inches away from getting the project out. Any ideas of a quick fix?

It could be a variety of things in the 7.0 to 8.x library transition. Most likely, your old 7.0 parts have not been converted to the proper 8.x subtypes so that they match your criteria and present the matching fields to your schedule.

The limited documentation won't help you much, but the collective experience here probably will. I could probably fix it quickly if I was sitting over your shoulder...

For EXAMPLE ...beyond the criteria thing, if your schedule is displaying a field such as "User Defined 1" ... be aware that the scheduler does not use that text prompt to determine if fields of different library parts match ... rather it uses the hidden parameter (variable) name. For proper 8.x parts, this name begins with gs_ and is part of the subtype fields. For older parts, the name could be anything.

Post a zip file with the following and I'll take a look tonight: (1) the gsm for a window that does appear in your schedule, (2) one of the 7.0 ones that does NOT appear, and (3) the *.iss file for the schedule you are trying to generate.

Okay, now this is...

Apparently the problem was that I was trying to pull the schedule while I had an area marqueed off, and I'm guessing it was only using that part to generate the schedule. And apparently it wasn't smart enough to only pull the windows.

Either that or it got fixed by itself (unlikely, but hey...). Is this a "feature" by any chance?...

But thanks anyway for your help Karl. Can I take a raincheck?...

Sure 😉 The IS reads all items if none are selected (and then filters), or reads and filters just the selected items. I haven't tried with a marquee... might be something new for me to learn there.
