Has anyone noticed that in the GDL editing environment in AC 10
the size, position, and font selection of the script windows are not remembered from one session to the next.
These prefs used to be stored in the "dialposition prefs" but
apparently now they are not remembered.
If anyone can confirm this I will report it to GS.
Thank you,
Peter Devlin

Just as you describe, plus the font size is not saved. I know most will not notice, but a big pain when doing library revisions. I hope this is a quick and easy fix.

The report window also resets its size/position at the same time. Which is annoying for me because it sits behind my Navigator. Extra credit peeve: Why is the default size of the report so small? It doesn't even show the full width of text.

Off topic here, but perhaps this is related and you can explain what this is about [see attached], the preview for my favorites windows are coming up with very strange liner, or that's my interpretation anyway, preview display. Yet when placed they are as they're supposed to be. Kind of a what the

I get the feeling I'm just not supposed to understand it

I am not sure what you mean by the term "liner".
What I see in your image of the preview is a rather
large jamb depth. AC displays the window before
it is placed using the wall thickness from the current
thickness of the wall in the wall tool.
After you place the window then the preview
shows the jamb depth as it is in the host wall.
You may have the wall thickness in the wall tool
set to a large dimension like two feet but none
of your placed walls are that thick.
Just a guess.

Now for my really stupid question, I cannot find the parameter, or at least the equivalent to "wall thickness" from my 8.1 window dialoge box? Even though I apparently already have it set.....
Plowing through the PDF AC_10 Illustrated windows, a search for wall thickness netted me jamb extension as you've both suggested, however changing his setting has no appropriate results in the jamb extension preview appearance, for this pilot anyway............I really am trying here, which means it is

Peter, I haven't forgotten you, just getting it together.......

Apparently, AC 10 windows and doors do not have
the "Frame depth" with the note "0=wall thickness".
In the parameters under "Frame" there a parameter
called "Frame depth" that can be set manually to
the thickness of the wall it is in but does set itself
to the wall thickness automatically if you make this
parameter equal zero as in previous versions.
The jamb extension adapts to the wall thickness.
Just more things to set before one places a window or door.

Thanks for getting back to me. That was the setting I'd found, and been adjusting as if it had an effect. Of course with the "auto-depth"actually in effect, it went right on by me. In 8.1 + 7, I had always set the depth to automatic, [or somehng of that sort], not 0", and let AC do the math, which sounds as though both had the same effect. Looks like it still does, just by different terminology.
Adjust and adapt.........
