Sliding Folding Doors

Does anyone know how I can create a library part to look like the attached image? We are using sliding folding doors that either stack to one side or both sides. The closest object in AC12 is the Bi-Fold object, however we need the option to set the number of panes and on which side they stack etc. Can anyone help?

This kind of folding doors are a clear need. We see it too and agree that you should be able to model them without 3rd party objects.

I cannot make public promises like that but you may expect such an element in the AC13 library. We'd like to develop a basic door for this purpose.
Hi Zsolt,

An offical GS 'Nanawall' type sliding door would be very useful. Lets hope we see it in AC13!

Also while on the subject on sliding doors, for the standard sliding doors like 'D3 Sliding 12', could you model the doors so the frames overlapped (like the lower picture below) on both plan and 3d? Maybe at least an option to specify the overlap distance. Currently it looks unrealistic and unlike the ones I've seen in the UK which all have some overlap. (How else do you keep the weather out? )

Many thanks!

Out here, if they're made of wood, they look like Peter's doors. If they're of aluminium, there's an interlocking mechanism that allows them to look like the default library part. I guess the overlap should be an option.

OK have just checked mine out.
Goes up to 8 panels with choice of door arrangements from 1-7, 2-6, 3-5 etc for each, shows door closed in 2D and dynamically controlled swing for open door, so that you can show it through a full sweep. I am rushing out to meeting now, but if anyone is interested let me know and I shall post it up.

OK its in the suppository, it is not the tidiest of objects as it was created for my own use rather than for public consumption. It is limited (at the moment) to full glazed door panels only. Try it and let me know what you think. A bit of feedback may be the prompt needed to finish it off.

Oww, sounds painful!

By the way, where is it in the depository? I've had a look in the door and window sections, but I can't see it.

I'll try to remember to give you some feedback once I've had a play with it!

Sorry Peter,

I had failed to upload correctly, have just done it again. It is in "Doors". BTW where in Wiltshire are you? I am up at the north end between Malmesbury and Cirencester.

Hi Gary,

I'm about 20 miles from you, t'other side of Malmesbury!

The door looks great! I've haven't played with it much yet, but I will let you know any problems.

I did spot that the inside and outside material definition is mixed up on a few of the panels. Also the material parameters are currently hidden for the glass, door knob, cill etc (easily solved!). I will look at it further next week and report back.

Thanks for posting it!

Apologies to all for rather poor upload, in my haste I forgot to include all macro's, I have uploaded a revised version along with macro's

I shall be revising it soon to provide more door panel styles, let me know of any other mods needed and I shall try to incorporate them.

Gary, this is a great part, thanks for your effort.

Don't know if this is a feature or bug, but setting the 2D opening dimension also affects the 3D opening, and I can't figure out how to disentangle the two.

I'd like to be able to show the dotted open-door lines on the floor plan, while keeping the door closed in 3D.

I've got just enough GDL knowledge to be dangerous, and I've been trying to modify a copy of your part, but I seem to break it just by saving a copy.

Anyone have any ideas?
