Stair Story Sensitive

I've drawn the stairs which go from the basement level to the ground level, and on both floor plans they don't show correctly.

It will depend a bit on the stair object that you are using.
All objects can behave differently depending on how well (or not) they are scripted.

Place your stair in the basement storey and set it to show one storey up (looks like you have done that).
Now in the parameters look for option to "Hide treads from upper floor" and "hide treads from lower floor".
You may also have to play with the line type parameters for the treads as well because if they are all set to solid lines then you won't see any difference.

Barry I can't get these stairs to look right at all, I'm going to delete them and start again.

Just so I understand better, when you activate the stairs tool, do the stairs get constructed from bottom to top, or top to bottom?

I think most stairs are scripted with the intent of going up.
But just to complicate it some have the option for reversing the travel line.

It all depends on what stair object you are using.
The attached image is from a very old Archicad stair - not sure if it is still in the library but I assume it is.
I haven't looked at the latest library for a while.
