Stair Tool: Problem (who would've thought?)

So we're on AC14 now and the stair tool is still a damn mess. See attached image. I find myself spending half a day trying to get the stair tool to look acceptable and this is as far as I can get. And I've wasted waaaay to much time screwing around with this...

1. The stair is placed on the first floor, yet it's showing it as dashed on the first floor and solid at the basement level. I've tried endlessly messing with the story settings to no avail.

2. I set the text as "readable" but as you can see it is "readable" from 3 different angles, none of which are actually "readable" from where I'm sitting. Maybe they want me to turn my head sideways or attach my chair to the ceiling?

3. Look at the railing on the inside of the stair at the landing where it is hidden. It doesn't clean up at all.

I could have drawn the entire stair in plan on both levels, section, elevations, and details in the time I've done this.

Sorry, I just need to rant.
