TURN OFF OUTLINES ON 2D BILLBOARD TREES IN 3D VIEWS?

...I know this question has appeared on this forum before...I have read a few of those posts and it seems that the rectangular billboard outlines around objects in 3D windows such as trees can only be hidden by turning off all contours in the entire view by modifying the view style. I'm hoping this is not the case, and someone knows a better answer.

...hoping Archicad has figured this out by now. If you know of a more useful way to control this please share.
