Who ate the Archicad Model Library

The library that came with 28 is missing all of the standard US components. It appears to be just furniture.  Supposedly there is a method to return to the US library but there is no information as to how to load this library.  Is anyone else having this issue or is no one using 28?

Operating system used: Mac Intel-based

We're getting this a lot this week.  Here is my answer to a previous question.  Let me know if this helps.  You need to load the Archicad Legacy Objects library pack.  C:\Program Files\GRAPHISOFT\Archicad 28\Archicad Legacy Objects.

If you use Medicine Cabinet 27 on any of your projects you will need to save it out to your own library. GS in their wisdom decided that nobody uses it and if they want to then you could spend some extra time configuring one of the cabinet objects. Obviously as long as you don't mind the knobs moving when you change sizes.

I just added the Archicad Legacy Objects and am still missing a number of objects including the following critical ones:

  • W Column
  • W Beam
  • DET_Stud
  • DET_CMU

Is the Archicad Legacy Objects library complete?

Oosh:

See this thread: Archicad 28 Detailer Library.

Thank you, David! I was able to find DET_Stud and DET_CMU objects among the Archicad Legacy Objects.

Unfortunately, W Column and W Beam are still nowhere to be found. I exported those objects from AC27 and loaded them into the embedded library for now, but that feels like a workaround...

From what I can tell, Steel Shapes are not labeled and listed as the same part in Archicad 27.  They've been given new names and the tool has been modified.

Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf/Object Library/00 General/Detailer Library/Steel Shapes...  (for W Column and W Beam)

Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf/Object Library/00 General/Detailer Library/Wood/Wood Frame... (for DET_Stud)

Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf/Object Library/00 General/Detailer Library/Masonry Units/Blocks Common... (for CMU)

Hope this helps.

Hi Jeff,

Really appreciate you sending such a clear and thorough response.

Unfortunately, the TS Column 27 and W Beams 27 are 3D objects, not from the DET library. Not sure where they could've gone or what they've been re-named as in AC28.

Thanks again!

Mine has it. Are you sure that you have loaded the latest "Archicad Library 28" I think they were not available in the one from Tech Preview?

The W Column 27 is also a 3D Object. The closest equivalent I could find in the 28 Library is the Universal Beams Column (Object Library > 05 Metals > 05 50 00 Metal Fabrications > Steel Column BS), but it is using the BS Standard, not the W Shapes used in the US, so not of much use here.
