I want to save it as an object and bring into into an exisiting project.
Then rotate it, so it is standing up.

Now i need to get my head around exporting it as an object file and bringing it back in.

Im kinda loos now
Help me please.

Thanks laszlonagy.
Im happy you like it.
i just need to understand where i can set the perspective view thing, so i can save this out as an object in the correct elevation.

also i am contemplating how to add a round barrel to the water gun ontop of the fire engine ???

How about using a rotated shell for the barrel?
Great looking fire truck - especially for one of your first objects.

...and it's in Parallel Projection settings, not perspective, that you want to be.

thanks guys.
i will try this in the next few minutes.

one new question to start the morning here in foggy Leipzig.
How can i make my new object parametric, so users can change the colour of the object.
At the moment i have a simle example like my fire house door.
I have that painted red and then saved out as object. all good but a friend asked me if he could change it to blue ?? i said im sure, checked it and yould not find any options in my object to change the material colour ?
I would love to have this simple parametric option.

any help would be super.
thankys guys.

Have a look at the "Building Objects Creation" training guide found here.

http://www.graphisoft.com/education/training_guides/

It was written for version 12 but will work with any newer version.
You could even just read the PDF if you didn't want to actually do the tutorials.

Adding materials is all explained in there.

guys have created a profile, extruded it with the shell tool.
now it is perfect for what i want.
BUT it is in the wrong axis.

so advice taken, i put the model in 3d view, selected the perspective, so i have the correct top view of the object.

Then i went and tried to save out as an object and i keep getting this error message.

what am i doing wrong ?
Thanks.

I have no idea what that message says but if it is a shell you can use the "Free Rotate" tool in the pet palette in 3D to rotate it as you want.
You should also be able to edit the rotation angle and radius as well and even the profile shape if you want to.
Using a shell is much better than saving as an object.

When you select the shell in 3D left click on a node or the profile and the pet palette will appear.
