how to trim top of angled beam

i want to trim the pink hatched area off the top of "beam 1", which is "universal columns beam 13" object in archicad 13.

i have tried cutting angles and cut type horizontal, perpendicular and vertical but it wont work

Just increase the Beam priority of the horizontal beam so it is higher than the angled beam.

Conversely lower the beam priority number of the angled beam.

In this example trim to roof would require you to add in a roof with which to trim.
