invalid parameters!

i placed a FF&E traditional fieplace into a plan of an existing very old house. fireplaces in very old farm houses were generally very small.

when using the library fireplace for these small fireplaces and trying to make them smaller i get the "invalid parameters!" error, because AC10 is checking its dimensions against what it thinks is "correct".

question >> is there any way to turn off the parameter checking on these kinds of GDL objects to allow me to use them, in this case, as an existing element in as-built drawings? rather than drafting them in 2D?

If there is any parameter value contraint, it is usually defined in the Parameter Script of the Object, or the value of the parameter is checked with an IF type of command in the Master Script or the 2D/3D Script.
These are the places you should be looking.

thanks for the direction > i was hoping that there would be a "switch" in the AC10 interface instead of having to go into the script.

Jeff,
I had a look at this object and you can't make the
unit width less than 3'-6" as I recall.
That of course is ridiculous.
There is a line toward the beginning of the 2D script (line 27)
that starts with if a+0.0001-(y*1"+y*j)*2-2".....
If you comment this line out by putting a few exclamation points
in front of the the line then you can make smaller fireplaces.
You have to be careful about the parameter settings like
the opening width not being greater than the total width
or you will get 3D errors.

problem still exists in ac 11.
are there any other fireplace parts available that do not have this problem getting smaller?
