Special Edition Library Update is Available

The updated version includes the correction of inconsistencies found in the first release and it's fully compatible with the original SE library. The most important changes are the following:

· SE9 version suffix added to each object's name so that it can be loaded together with the ArchiCAD 9 library
· Textures , background pictures and list templates have been removed from the library archive (pla) and moved to separate folders so that you can freely unload or modify them
· Parameter transfer between different types of doors and windows fixed
· Different materials can be assigned to the inside and outside of the doors and windows
· Window size can be entered correctly in the editable hotspot's pet palette
· Sash setback parameter added to windows
· Brick arch and sill functions corrected in case of ganged windows and doors
· No hotspot editing of window size allowed in case of typical sizes
· Correct 2D and 3D if the brick sill is turned off for metal windows
· Simple brick sill position fixed

hello
I am working on the new version of AC9 lib.
The problem is that it takes atleast couple of minutes to load.
Any feedback?

Has anybody using OSX been able to download it?
In my case it always quits about 3Mb into the dl using either Safari, Opera or Firefox.

Kay,

Since the textures, background pictures and list templates have been taken out from the library archive (pla) and moved to separate folders the library loading speed increased but it's still not more then 10 seconds on my laptop (2GHz mobile Pentium with 1GB RAM). Do you have this speed problem with other libraries as well?

The documentation is vague on the updated Libraries in this area:

Now that Images, Textures, etc have been broken out of the .pla file, do I just drop all these folders in the Graphisoft > ArchiCad 9 > ArchiCad Library 9 folder on my local drive?

And, since I am currently storing our .PLA files on our OS X server only, not on local machines, should I unpack the .DMG and place all the files loose in the Library 9 folder on the server?

Thanks,

tr.graphisoftus.com posts a warning that the new SE library cannot be used with the AC 9 library and this conflicts with what was posted by GS. Which is correct??

Can they be used together or not?

Thanks,

Grant,

The Graphisoft US website will be updated soon to reflect the content of the international GS site. The updated SE library can be loaded together with the AC9 library without conflicts.

Sorry for the confusion

I'm coming in late here since I'm just starting to use AC9, so I apologize if these questions have already been answered. What do I need to do to update the stock library that came with AC9 to whatever the current version is? Is the Special Edition intended to replace the original AC9 library if one is just starting out fresh with this version?

I'm unclear whether or not I should download the updates being discussed in this thread, or if there's something else I should download and install first, and where to put any of them.

Thanks.

Yes. This is the version to download and use. Be sure to download all of the various PDF manuals and startup files as well. Note that if you have existing projects using 8.1 or earlier libraries (since you're just coming to 9), those can be loaded alongside this SE library, or you can create a PLA of your existing projects so that you only are loading the library parts in use from older libraries, or you can use the 'compatability' libraries found on the tr.graphisoftus.com web site alongside the SE9 library.
