wall end tool does not work - red dot appears

I am trying to use the wall end tool to wrap the end of a free stud wall in gyp. If I click on the little arrow on the Wall End tool and bring up the options, I click on the "Wall End - Wrapped - Gypsum Board" a red dot with the number one appears briefly, then disappears. Does anyone know what this dot indicates?

After clicking on the tool, it does not do anything (ie. no image of a wall end to drag to a wall, and/or when I click on the requisite wall, nothing happens. Am I missing the library part, or not using the tool correctly, both?

Sounds like a Favourite. Have you tried with the base tool?
