Hardware License Key Not Working

Graham Barber

Hi

I've just had my motherboard replaced on my work PC and as a result I'll lost all ArchiCAD info (ArchiCAD 26 Solo).  I've installed all the latest updates, license manager, etc but can't get the program to recognise my hardware license key.  I've checked on the Graphisoft website and my license is still current but I can't find any solution to this problem.

Anyone got an idea as to how to overcome this ?

Cheers Graham

Operating system used: Windows 7004

You say you have a hardware key and the motherboard has just been replaced.

Are you sure they have connected the USB ports correctly?

With License Manager running, what happens when you plug the key in?

Hi Barry

When the key is plugged in the green light flashes on the end of the key, also when I can the new license manager tool it seemed to see the key and update the files on it so I can only assume it's working correctly.  Also I've just plugged my phone in and it's charging so all looks good from a port point of view.

Sounds like the ports are working.

When you start Archicad, have you signed in with your Graphisoft ID?

If you can't sign in at the start screen, you can do so from the HELP menu.

You might also want to try installing this security update ... https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Installation-update/Security-Update-for-Archicad-22-25-and-Licen...

Yep I'm signed in to the program, everything is as it should be except that it's not recognising my license

I've already installed this update, as far as I can see all the necessary updates are on my system.

Graham

This is strange if the license manager is seeing the key.

I would try the old IT fall-back.

Unplug the key.

Restart your machine and pug the key back in.

Other than that i am out of ideas.

Hi Barry

Yes done all that, several times.  The key works on other Windows 11 workstations but not mine.

I've tried the license tool manager again and it's seeing it for sure.  I've tried other ports on my PC but still nothing.

Cheers Graham

I would say it is an issue for your local support.

Just a thought, you say the key works on other machines.

Are you able to try another key on yours?

Do you have other versions of Archicad you can try?
