Roofs, pools, and 2 or more story houses!!! HELP!!!

How do make roofs on a mac? Also how do you create pools that are made underground? All that I can seem to create is above ground pools. My last question is how do you create more than one story houses or buildings. My school has just received this program and no one nows how to use it. Please help.

Same way as on a PC. Study the help files for more detailed instructions, but basically you set your roof parameters in the roof tool, (pivot height, roof thickness, materials, display settings etc) position your roof pivot line then the geometry of the roof. You can make your roof one plane at a time or use the hip roof geometry method to create an entire roof in one go.

How are you constructing your pool? Slabs and walls - change the elevation of elements to desired settings. If you have a mesh (or slab) for your site cut a hole in it for your pool to sit in. (Select the mesh, with mesh tool active simply draw the shape of your pool cutout to create a hole within it).

Go to Story Settings to set number of floors and relative heights. (and believe me, it won't be your last question )

All of these questions would be answered easily in the help files. Check them out. It also pays to state your AC version and OS in a signature (in your forum profile) as answers may vary depending on your setup.

These are very basic questions that indicate a lack of general training. I suggest that you start by taking a look at the AC11 Getting Started.pdf that ships with the product. Follow that up with some of the lessons downloadable from Graphisoft at:

Furthermore, you can look at the help files accessed from the help menu within the program itself (it will open in a browser window). Each of these free resources can answer your roof question and multiple story question.

As for underground pools, you can certainly model these with the standard tools but I would try using an object instead as it is generally a little cleaner provided it fits the configuration you need. Look here:
