To be able to use Archicad in Educational mode, an email address (User ID) & Serial number needs to be entered. The Serial number for Educational purposes can be obtained on
MyArchicad.com. Archicad asks for the email address (User ID) & Serial number at the first launch of Archicad:
After typing in your email address (User ID) & Serial number, Archicad checks if it's a match with the database. If it detects an issue with your credentials, Archicad displays an error message about it. The below points outline the issues that can possibly occur and explain solutions to them one-by-one:
The Serial Number is invalid
It often happens, that the Serial number contains characters that are visually similar, like 1-I-l, or O-o-0. Make sure that you have typed the exact same characters as you can see on your
MyArchicad profile or in the e-mail you got. A good way of eliminating this issue is to Copy & Paste the Serial number to the Archicad dialog.
The Serial Number has expired
Educational Serial numbers are issued for a 365 days (students and teachers) / 730 days (schools, universities) period from the date of the approval:
-
After this period, you can apply for a license renewal at https://myarchicad.graphisoft.com.
-
Did you already get your new license (expiry date after March23rd 2027) and the error message below appears, make sure, you have installed the latest Hotfix of Archicad 28 (28.3.3 or newer) / Archicad 29 (29.1.0 or newer), to activate your new license. You can download the Upgrade here: Downloads
The Serial Number does not match the User ID
The entered Serial number is valid, but it is matched to a different email address/username than what is provided in the User ID field. Check which is the matching User ID to this Serial number on your
MyArchicad profile and try again.
The Serial Number can only activate the XXX program version
The entered Serial number is valid, but it has been issued for a different language version of Archicad that you are currently running. Go to your
MyArchicad page or check the e-mail you got and check which language version of Archicad have you applied for. On this page you have the flexibility of switching between your language version and the International version of Archicad, both having their own Serial numbers.
To solve this issue, choose the Serial number that is provided for the language version of your installed Archicad. If you would like to use a different language version of Archicad that you have access to through MyArchicad, you need to change your Country on the
Personal details tab of your Graphisoft ID profile.
