3D Piping Problem

Is there a way to insert and connect the drainage pipes shown in the attachement, using only the ArchiCAD 3D window? And if so, where do I find a tutorial illustrating the techniques required? Or is it possible to explain the technique clearly, on this forum, in the fashion of "3D for Dummies"?

Yeesh.

It would seem that each piece has to be alighed from its base and then elevated a set distance. The pipes - being 'smart' are trained to add flanges as you add length and some of them also can slope. I only had luck by aligning them at their bottoms and then hoisting them up. Without more nodes a working section would appear to be required for verification and adjustment.
