AC 11 - Problem with select tool

I'm using AC11 on ntel MAC and have a bug with my select tool - (or I am missing a setting somewhere!)... It is impossible for me to do multiple selections using the SHIFT key option. The tool did work before, and I have re-installed AC to try and rid the issue... No luck. I also tried to select multiple objects (select all) and then de-select with the SHIFT key, but that doesn't work either! Please Help!!!

Turn off your "caps lock" key.

Hello Rod,
My impression is that the problem of the caps lock key disabling the
shift key function for multiple selection selective deselection
was fixed by GS sometime before AC 8.1 because I have not
run into this issue for quite a while. I just tested it in AC 8.1
and in AC 10 and whether the caps lock key is on or off
does not make a difference. The shift key function works.
Is it different for you ?

peter - the capslock "problem" was actually a feature! it allowed you to scroll through overlapping elements . . . one that graphisoft broke with the new selection/preselection highlight nonsense!

No Peter, a case of old habits and teaching "old dogs".

I tried all with Caps Lock key on and off... Still the same! Very annoying to try and work like this...

Although you said what version and what OS you use in your earlier post,

PLEASE HELP!!! Any chance of the Esteemed Moderator coming to my rescue??!! I'm still hanging here... Slowed down and frustrated! What can I do without multiple selections?

Is your grid snap off?

Are you SURE that you are actually selecting/deselecting? Is the highlight on?

Yes - Grid Snap off. No problem selecting single objects.

Presently working at a snail's pace - raising roof trusses one by one...!
