AC18 Walls won't clean up correctly

Am modeling a home with garage under the living area. The garage floor is -9'-4". When I attempt the place the garage walls, they will not join, but leave a 1'4" weird opening at the bottom, then clean up above that. this happens at the front of the garage, the wall with the doors. I just rebuilt the four walls again and the same thing happens every time.

see the picture...then if you know how, please tell me how to clean up this mess...and if you can, tell me why it happens.

If you turn all layers on and renovation filter off is there anything else in that position which may be cutting the walls? Another wall, a column or slab perhaps?

I have seen this with overlapping wall heights. Is that a possibility?

I finally had time to turn on all layers, and found an old foundation piece that caused this, when I threw it out, the model worked...thanks to all for assisting me in this.
