so, we have no video tutorials of exactly how to do the AC21 railings. fine...so then how/where are the railings that I can associate to the stairs that have the "wire rails"? How can I adjust the railings to contains those "wire rails"?
(see attached image) I need the railings on the stairs which are currently associated to look like the "wire rail" on the left.....how can I accomplish this?

you've spent THREE DAYS....creating rail and stair favorites? that's just not right. it's uncalled for.....really it is to spend THAT MUCH TIME on a tool that has been touted as a major improvement.....NOT....RIGHT....AT.....ALL..FOLKS.
HA! I've spent much more time than that over the years fussing with ArchiStair, StairBuilder, and the like. These are by far the best tools yet, but still lacking.

Can you please....point me to where the heck those "favorites" railings are? I can't seem to pull out "ANY" pullout tool bar that has the folder where they reside? I have pecked, poked, prodded, and even threatened Archicad 21 to delete it from my Hard Drive....but to no avail.

I have not a clue where the heck can you find those "railing favorites" or how to even access them.
Open a New File using the ARCHICAD 21 Commercial.tpl -- click on the Railing icon in the Tool Bar, and then click on the tiny arrow to the right (see attached screenshot).

thanks Laura...I did that but you mean to tell me that AC21 ONLY has 4 railing favorites and there isn't even one that has the "rail twisted horizontals" on them?...................again.............EPIC FAIL.

Also, that darn "palette" diagram within the railing settings? WTH is that? I cant seem to figure out how to add the proper "rails" to the diagram? I mean I know the (+) button "adds" rails or hand rails or top rails or panels....but how can you "precisely position" those newly added components? Also, I keep getting this "gap" each time I add a new rail...seems like theres some programing glitch going on.
You can add elements to the "Segment" depending on which component is active in the tree structure. For example, if the Handrails component is active, hitting the plus sign and dragging it into the diagram will add a handrail. If the Balusters component is active, hit the plus sign and tap in the area of the diagram that you want to place the balusters. Use the parameters in the panels below to set type, size, elevation, etc.

I'll try that but you are showing "balusters" and "balusters" are vertical elements...why is the horizontal panel being greyed for use?

See, this is where this darn "programming" gets a bit unfriendly. And again...no tutorial videos.

The gray area is the area where the balusters will be applied.

For horizontal wires, I'm guessing you'd have to place a bunch of Rails with small diameters. To Barry's point, you'd have to manually adjust them, as they don't have the distribution options that vertical balusters offer.

Manually adjust horizontal rails? what? you'd get spacing of horizontal rails in inaccurate and random spacings?..........Impossible. I REFUSE to believe that is how this new "amazing" railing tool works...

I just placed a number of rails and set their elevations at 4" increments (you'll have to select each one individually to set its height).
