AUTODESK'S yearly update cycle is too short for Graphisoft

I have found this article just by a chance. It contemplates on a feasibility of 12-months cycle for a product development. I somehow believe that the decision of GS to 'copy' this strategy is doing more harm than good.

As a "subscriber" I would be quite happy to see updates drip fed rather than the big annual event. This is how a number of app developers work. It should take the pressure off a specific launch date allowing QA to do it's job and the developers to focus on a particular areas of improvement. I'm not sure the growth in bugs is entirely down to the annual release, I can imagine it has a lot to do with the unforeseen consequences of program development. I'm not excusing it, but the knowledge embedded in the AC code must be huge and testing every variable would be pretty much impossible until we have Quantum computing....
