Aligning text and objects?

I did a search here and found a suggestion for an add-on tool to align text and objects. It was at...

I emailed Orbit and they said they have no plans to update their Orbit Accessories (which had the alignment abilities) for AC 9.

Anyone found anything else to use to align objects and text?

alignment abilities is something i could use on a regular basis. its too bad they will not update it to V9.

The other thing i could really use is the ability to have a fill appear behind and size to text, so as to pop it out from drawing clutter.

This wish you've already got granted! Look for the word "opaque" in the text block formatting area of the text default settings.
