the priority based connections is maybe a step in the right direction, but it appears from the video that there is no option to manually revise and reconfigure the skin intersection, which is what we need to be able to accurately model and detail.

trying to get the the floor to wall priorities worked out solely based on the material priority number is not enough, even for a simple wood frame residential project. there are just too many different intersections, and what is needed is the ability to graphically reshape each skin from a variety of view including sections. AutoCAD Architecture does a pretty good job at this...
I am pretty sure that an overwhelming majority of cases can be handled pretty well by this solution.
You can create as many Building Materials as you want, you can set Intersection Priorities for Building Material to any number between 1 and 999.
So I would be interested in a real-life example when you start using the program. Let's see if we can make it work for you.

These global connections are probably a good first step. I would hate to have to manually do every connection each time. However it would be nice to be able to alter an unusual connection graphically.

AC17 appears to be setting up for configuring the model to make energy analysis more accurate as well as the material take off schedule units with PBC and IBM.

3d floor plan display with its override buttons is cool and streamlined.

I like how the IBM are linked in with the elements as this makes more sense than just having fills represent materials.

I would not spend too much time using PBC only for making sections appear correct or if I need to do energy analysis with the model.

Not bad but I could do with and easier user interface when drawing walls and setting windows and doors and other elements into position with the automatic witness line dimensions that interact with elements to move them into place quickly and more effectively than the long winded methods of ArchiCAD and Vectorworks programs.

Yes Chief Architect can do it as well as Revit who copied them apparently.

With ArchiCAD you get a fuller package than you do with Revit on its own is more expensive and you need more add ons than you do with ArchiCAD.

I hope Graphisoft have a good close look at ways they can speed up productivity for us in drawing the basics of the model and producing sections and details much faster and more effectively than Revit can with AC18 in a years time.

Same old render engine in 17 I'm afraid.
Another wish for the 18 list.
Barry.
I second what Barry said.
I am not aware of any new rendering engine being part of ArchiCAD 17.
Hello

Is Lightworks still present in AC 17 ?

Of course it is.

It was strongly rumored that ArchiCAD 17 would include the C4D rendering engine...I think that's the why of the question.

You know, rumours are rumours...
Who knows what part of them is true and to what degree...

Lazlo, your not dropping hints are you for AC18?

AC9 had Light works so AC18 has a new RE in it?

Am I the only one appreciate new morph mass modeling capability??
This is something that Revit has long time ago...
I was constantly finding better way to start project in ArchiCAD
and finally we have a tool for it!

Honestly I don't know what will be in ArchiCAD 18.
