Hi to all expert users, I very much appreciate how Archicad works and speeds things up with the magic wand tool.
I am trying to speed up the drawing of rooms in Archicad 24. I have experimented with drawing fills and zones to represent rooms and then putting walls around them with the wand tool.
Is it possible to use the wand to draw a wall on a single line segment that is part of a rectangular polygon ? I have tried to suspend groups but the wand still sees the full polygon shape and draws the wall all the way around.
Edit: I needed to use the line tool in rectangle mode to be able to suspend groups and delete the lines I didn’t need. Then I used the wand on that section of walls.
I have also had problems with internal walls not intersecting with an external composite wall correctly as well.
(I think I might have found the answer to this question at least, with junction order settings in AC 24 help https://youtu.be/vw0V561gVog ?)
This next video below pretty much illustrates how I currently work with Archicad when editing walls.
Edit 2: Getting internal participation walls to clean up or join correctly can sometimes be a bit of slow down in workflow.
Many other element placing functions work quite well and efficiently with the magic wand tool.
Please see this video below of how Archicad speeds up our work flow with other elements with the use of the magic wand tool. If you haven’t already seen it before ?
Any suggestions on how I can use the magic wand tool more effectively when drawing walls for rooms would be very much appreciated.
