Archicad 9 - How does it compare to earlier updates ?

Not applicable
Just ordered Archicad 9 (upgrade from 8.1)
Would like to here what those of you who are already using AC9 think about it, if you have the time.

Much more stable-crashes are rare.

Worth it just for Lightworks
Never really had a major problem with stability, but 9 seems good.
Selection tool modifications good, most of the time.
PM seems slower, esp in "opening ArchiCAD in background" but enhancements worth the wait.
Text 90% better, could still do with a little tweaking though.

I have had plenty of problems with AC9 on a PC. Always found previous versions to be very stable but am plagued with plenty of crashes and problems. Recently I can't even open files that I just worked on yesterday. Very disappointed.

In view of the fact that most users of ArchiCAD are PC users, and that you are more-or-less alone in this problem, have you considered that it might be your machine?

A strategy for dealing with uncooperating files is to merge them into new projects - just as a test.

This is likely a hard drive issue.

What is your hardware setup?

BTW - on this forum it is common for members to list their hardware and software configurations to narrow the possibilities.
