Hi All, I have recently shifted from Revit to Archicad. My primary purpose is to create shop dwgs and cutting lists for customised Aluminum doors which are made of Aluminum profiles and Glass (Interior and Exterior) While I know how this can be achieved in Revit, I wanted to understand how the same can be done is Archicad. I want to add custom parameters to Doors so that i can just add the size of opening and it can give me the door section length, glass size and length of gasket required along with cost
Would appreciate if someone can guide me.
Sharing reference image for the kind of doors i am looking to work on. Please keep in mind I need to capture the details in dwgs and create a schedule showing me details. Trying to create a configurator basically for ease of work and to keep track of production.
Revit has a limit of .8mm as the shortest segment while Archicad is far more flexible that is why i am looking to shift.

Hi,
I would look into Curtain wall tool - you can bring in your own frame sections for the vertical, horizontal parts, create custom spacings, etc. This can be latter annotated (either as a whole or as individual parts) and you can use scheduling to schedule by profile, by element, etc. Plenty of tools online but if you have the time to poke around and experiment, you can get a good grasp of the features quite quickly.
And in regards to other parameters, you can add properties via the property manager (these are editable fields that you can pre-define once and then apply to all your elements). Afterwards you can recall those in the schedule (U-values, sun protection factor, glass thickness, profile RAL color etc). And editing them in the model/ schedule will edit the properties anywhere.
And as far as I know, some profiles from major manufacturers (depending on where you are located) are also to be found on their respective websites or bimobject etc.

Do you have an example of the output you require?

Hi, Thanks for the response.
So, I have 2D sections as CAD. can that be imported and extruded in curtain wall? Also, can we capture the angles at which the vertical and horizontal junction form? suppose the profile intersects at 45 Degree or 90 Degree can that also be scheduled?
I will look into the tool and property manager. Thanks for helping out.

Yes, you can import the 2D sections and extrude them
A quick tutorial on that I found online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2H5fh4iuX
In regards to your second question, yes you can recall the Slant Angle value of each individual member of your CW (here's a mockup I did with auto-text).
