Attribute manager crashing

Rick Thompson
Expert
I have set up a "merge" template file to hopefully make updating my many, many (constantly reused) files to new current standards via The Attribute Manager. I update all my composites with the new features, adding fills, materials, purging layers... etc., however AC crashes most of the time I am overwriting a file. Not all the time, but most of the time. Just wondering if anyone else uses the attribute manager regularly to merge files is having any crashing problems?

And, GS, it would be great to be able to control the numbering of attributes to facilitate this.

Thank you!

According to the database this crash should be fixed in the first update of ARCHICAD 22! We have just released a preview version of the update for the INT and USA languages, so if you are using the INT or USA versions, you can install it and the problem should be solved. The final version of the update should roll out for all the languages in a few weeks time.

Let me know if the update solved the issue.

Yes I have experienced this in the past. I found it more reliable to do things in stages, instead of all at once. So in Attribute Manager, say do your purging first and hit Apply. Then do your Appending/Overwiting and hit Apply. Continue like this in stages, and then when you're done, hit OK.

Hope that proves more successful.

Cheers,

naaa... it just crashed twice trying to move one composite. I think I am going to call it a day/year with it, untill the next version comes out. It has worked earlier today, but is just not consistant. It is easier to copy/paste, but I can't do what I would like to do without the attribute manager.

but thanks

Bringing this thread back to life for AC22...

Attribute Manager crashes every time I attempt to run it. Tested in a fresh AC install w/ empty file from default USA template. Crashes every time. Anyone else having the same problem or knows how to fix it?

I am having the same problem. I noticed you are using Mac OS Sierra, I am as well. This might be the culprit. Tried new empty file as well as older files. Same problem. Can't think of anything else. Any input welcome!

I have just tried on another iMac running 10.11.1 Works fine there. Anyone else knows if it is possibly incompatibility with 10.12?

Hey guys,

Could any (or both) of you make ARCHICAD crash again, send in the error report, and post the Bug ID you get? I may be able to see some details in our system about the problem based on the Bug ID.

Thanks,
