i see that you are using archiCAD 8 rather than 8.1?
are you also experiencing this in the teamwork environment?
we had this problem where newly created elements, particularly lines and objects after a 'paste' could not be selected,
or even worse were selecting
other
elements! be careful when trying to delete them!!!
i imagine that it was something to do with who the team file thought owned those elements. the answer for us was to send and receive changes. this cleared the problem.
we have not experienced this since updating to 8.1
