Best way to put a footpath on a terrain?

We have a contoured mesh for the front garden of a residential project, and we want to put some curving paths across the terrain.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to do this?

Thanks!

Try this link for Peter Devlins PDF explaining ways to do this.

If the path is meant to be stones set in the earth rather than
a continuous path of some other material (like a roadway),
I have often used little thin roofs laid in the surface of the mesh
to simulate a stone path. The roofs can be tilted to lay
on the mesh surface correctly.
Thank you,
