Black Windows or No Black Windows

I have been getting frustrated with AC11 elevation tool. I have found that if the distant area marker line is kept close to the elevation marker then windows stay clear. If the marker is moved into the model then the windows turn black.

Also it is very difficult to get a black and white elevation if the distant area marker is in the model or beyond the model. It is however easy to get a coloured elevation when the distant area marker is within or beyond the model.

Best spot for a black and white elevation with fill hatchings and white windows seems to be close to the elevation marker and outside the model.

Has anybody else had this experience also?

Whether the windows are black or not is a factor of transparency, not the distant area.

And you can set greyscale or colour in the settings of the same elevation placed as the drawing on your layout.
