Complex Profile errors

MMontgomery

We are experiencing an odd error with complex profiles.

We have a project that, when opened, applies the complex profile from a different project in place of the complex profile the project is supposed to be using. For instance, what should be crown molding in this project is using a profile we created in another project for a slatted fence.

This can happen with either one project open or both. They are both from the BIM server.

We created a new profile for the one that was using the wrong profile in case there was some sort of UID issue. Now the project opens with that profile using a different incorrect profile, instead of slatted fence, it now uses a metal panel complex profile we created in the other project.

To fix it is simple, just select the object, go to settings and hit 'OK' and it switches back to the correct complex profile.

How can this be avoided? It's simple to fix each time, but it does cause problems if it isn't done before printing a set.

Thanks,

Mike

We're having the same issue. It's got to be a bug of some sort. We use the same work around, although its very tedious.

We are having the same issues usually after a merge (cut & paste) from a different project.

Dear ArchiCAD Users,

We have found the cause of this problem and the solution to it. ArchiCAD 15 Hotfix-3 will contain the fix for it. Unfortunately putting this fix into Hotfix-2 (due in February) would delay the hotfix too much. Nevertheless we are going to contact those of you who were struggling with this problem very soon for giving you a custom solution in relation to the bug.

Sorry for the inconveniences caused so far.

Best regards,

We've had this issue as well. Would always fix it by selecting all the walls (only ever walls), changing them to anything else, and then undoing.

Good to know selecting, going to settings and clicking okay will work.

VERY happy to know that a solution is coming. I never like these kind of glitches.

Yep -- Same problem here. We've been using AC15 for six months now, and experienced this issue for the first time this morning.

Has anyone tried Reload Project from Server?

That seems to have corrected it for us. We have this (or similar) issue with our CPs on one Teamwork project. I should add that it didn't correct it permanently - just for the time being. But it seems to be the easiest correction while possibly not the quickest.

An easier workaround is to simply open the file twice. Yes, just what it means. Go to File>Open choose project and after it has opened go to File>Open and open it again. As Andor mentioned above we will do our best to contact you regarding a custom solution until Hotfix #3 is released.

Best regards!
