Complex Profiled Wall End Materials - was:GOING 3D

How can I make the attached complex profile wall have the same end profile as edge profile? Right now the whole end profile is ugly gray, I want each piece of the profile to have the same color/material as its edge. Is this doable???

But unfortunately that slimy trick only works with surfaces, not internal faces.

However, a fellow might make a really thin column on the end face of a wall .......
