I am finding it impossible to change the material of existing profiled columns - the material is missing and the parameter is greyed out in the column editing dialog.
For context, this project was imported into AC 28.
I am not privy to its previous history, but presume the material originally used to define the column profile was lost somewhere en-route,
That said, surely I should at least be able to just nominate a substitute for the missing material, rather than having to redefine the column profile myself?
I note that even when I do edit the source profile to use a currently available material, while its fill appearance updates correctly in plan, the column UI still shows material as greyed out and 'missing', so unless I am missing something, in my mind this may be a bug with AC28 v4001.
Can anyone else confirm?

The missing material is for the column sheating which is unavailable for complex profile. The profile material is changed in the profile manager.

Thanks @thesleepofreason . This begs the question as to why the parameter is displayed at all, or shown as 'missing' rather than 'N/A' it if is not applicable in that context.
That said, for the wishlist, I think sheathing should be an option for complex profiles - steel columns are nearly always wrapped in some sort of intumescent foam, or fire rated plasterboard

The "Missing" BM is unrelated to the CP, it was just your last selected Wrapping BM prior to changing the column type to CP or turning off the wrap.
If you believe this maybe a common misunderstanding, maybe make a wish for the UI to be modified to seperate the wrap toggle and related settings.
While having the option for CPs would be nice, defining the boundary is rather complicated given they origin can be anywhere and the shape may not be rectangular.
