You can only use fills in the complex profile editor. All other tools except annotation tools will be greyed out. Annotation will automatically go in its own "Drafting" layer and will be visible in the complex profile editor only.
Merging walls is handy if you already have the 3D walls in place and want to swap them out for a complex profile.
It will create a 'Custom' wall which you should really open and rename (and adjust other settings if necessary).
This just automates the creation of the fills in the profile.
Otherwise start from scratch with a new profile (or duplicate and existing one).
You need to create all the fills - correct shape, size and building material (fill pattern).
Do this if you don't already have the walls in place.
It is best to model the fills with the outside face on the origin and the fills to the left of the origin to be consistent with the automatically made ones.
