Convert Educational to Commercial

Anonymous
Not applicable
We have some models created in the educational version of ArchiCAD.

Is it possible to convert these to the commercial version?

I've searched a bit, but find only stuff rom 10 years ago.

Is it possible?

Also, if it's not possible, I assume there is a workaround to export to ICF or something and then import, but what's the best solution?

Once a file is educational it will remain educational.
I think this is to stop firms using the free educational software to produce commercial files.

Saving as IFC may work but I can't say for sure.
Give it a try and see - unless the educational version does not allow you to save IFC files.
That may be the case to again stop commercial firms from using the educational software.

A more recent discussion (2015) that started with AC12 EDU.
Still relevant.

Why does ArchiCAD ask me "if I want to convert from Edu to Commercial file when I start it up?"

Does not make sense since this is the message you should get.

Looks like you found a Bug since I have never seen that message.
What happens when you click Convert?
