Create Guide Lines

Is it possible to create a guide line based on a snap line? it would be much faster, instead of always creating new guide lines by dragging them from the sides.

Not that I know of.

But you can draw a guide line segment (orange guide) instead of dragging from the edge (ALT+L).

Also the blue snap guides appear/disappear as you move the mouse.

You can right click on one of those and pin it so it stays in position until you complete your current command.
