Disk is full (error code -1111), can't extend 3D temporary f

A 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad, 4 GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT, OS 10.5.2, AC10 US the latest. Got it while navigating the 3D view of a large model but without windows doors etc. As it was getting to that the thing was reacting really slow, both in the 3D window, in other AC windows and palettes (like you open Layers Settings and the window takes forever to generate and leaves areas blank). What is it that I need more of?

How much free drive space do you have? It sounds like you've run out of cache space on your hard drive.

Not likely the cause of the message, but 4 GB memory is not much for an 8 processor machine which is potentially running lots of background tasks besides ArchiCAD. So, virtual memory swapping on your hard drive might be part of the slow-down.

Is the issue repeatable? If so, run Activity Monitor while this is happening and (cmd-1) check the System Memory usage - amount free - and the Disk Activity read/write rates prior to the error appearing.

Assume you have lots of free space on your disk? The AC default location for the temporary folder for AC 10 is a hidden subfolder of the root of the boot drive. If you've partitioned your drive in such a way that the boot drive is short on space, that might be related to the problem?

The near-frozen slowness (with one of the processors apparently running 99-100% continuously) is repeatable. I guess the message will too at some point.

It happens the first time it generates a model, after that you can change viewpoint and walkthrough OK.

Only 10% of the drive space is taken, everything is on the server. The drive is not partitioned.

I've got same issue.
And what graphisoft answer to me:
The disk full error is probably as the result of windows reaching its 2GB limit. Try simplifying the visible parts of the model, truning off the internal layers etc.
