FLUTED POST OPERATOR

A year ago we used the Morph tool to make an SEO to acheive the result shown. Unfortunately ,due to my broken brain,the Morph wasn't saved and is long lost……:oops:
I haven't been able to repeat the method used to get the morph shape required!
Does anyone have a method that works for this or are there videos out there.
I noticed in one of Jared Banks' videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTxhG4z-iUk) he has the same effect.

Create a 90 degree revolved morph object to match the "flute" and SEO subtract it from the "column"?

Making the body of the operator as a cylindrical morph is no problem,I just can't remember what I did to round off the ends!

Use a Complex profile wall rotated at least 90 degrees. You can achieve the full chamfer, curved ends and all. It can also be converted to a morph if need be.

The original operator for you column must be on a hidden layer unless the column has been converted to a morph or saved as an object.

So to get the exact same cutout as on your original post you could have a look on the hidden layers for the original operator.

Or use this column morph or object as the operator in an SEO and subtract it from a slab (target) you have placed on the corner over the cutout on the morph/object.
This will result in the exact same cutout which you could then save as a morph for use again on any other column.

Of course you could then edit this morph if you wanted to make it different or just create a new operator as described before.

Yes the post was converted to an object and used throughout the project,for which I still have the archived pln. The problem was that before saving the pln I think we deleted some layers and the morph operator was one of them.
However all the above advice ,including DGSketchers idea,have put us back on track.! THANKS TO YOU ALL.

If you did save the original post as an object then you could 'Export' that object out of the archive project using the Library Manager so that you can then 'Import' or 'Add' it into any other job you want it in.

Or you could just copy & paste it from the archive file into a new file.

Or if you export it and save it in your office library it will be available in any job where you load that office library.

Client request required editing the extents of the fluting (newel post) ….which was where my started….
Object operator now firmly embedded in the office library..!
